Putting together basic and clinical research

IDIBAPS is one of the main Spanish centers for translational research, as it hosts more than 350 first-rate researchers belonging to three scientific institutions:

• Hospital Clínic
• Universitat de Barcelona
• Institut d'Investigacions Biomèdiques de Barcelona - CSIC

More than 50 teams within the framework of IDIBAPS are researching to improve the prevention and treatment of the main health problems in Spain and other developing countries. Their research lines enable the integration of quality clinical research and high level basic research. The contact between clinical and basic experts takes the laboratory to investigate innovative solutions for the daily challenges within the hospital, and enables an earlier transfer of these solutions to the health care praxis. The Generalitat de Catalunya offers them institutional and financial support.
