Research lines
CIBEK has a capacity of 350-400 researchers. Many of the platforms necessary to perform quality research will be harbored in the new building. Others, however, will stay in the Faculty of Medicine of the Universitat de Barcelona, in the Hosptial Clínic and in the Institute for Biomedical Research of Barcelona (IIBB), belonging to the Spanish Council for Scientific Research (CSIC).
The close proximity of these centers enables the CIBEK to devote a big percentage of its capacity to research laboratories. The new spaces will enable the enlistment of researchers from other centers in Spain and abroad to complete the existing groups.
