Creation of the CIBEK Monitoring Group: Juan Rodés, General Director of the Hospital Clínic; Francisco Guerra, Manager of the Hospital Clínic; Josep Maria Piqué, Medical Director of the Hospital Clínic; Ramon Gomis, Research Director of the Hospital Clínic; Vicente Arroyo, Director of the Institute for Digestive and Metabolic diseases; Antonio Lacy, Head of the Gastrointestinal Surgical Service.

Creation of the Technical Group that must prepare the building project under the direction of the Architect-in-chief, Mr. Antoni Ubach, and the Director of Engineering of the Hospital Clínic, Sr. Joan Muntasell.

Signature of a declaration of intent by the Esther Koplowitz Foundation and the Fundació Clínic.

The Mensor Group prepares the CIBEK Functional Program.

Conclusion of the Executive Project of Architecture.

Final approval for the modification of the General Metropolitan Plan and the Plan of Urban Improvement by the Generalitat de Catalunya.

Mr. Joan Vila-Masana i Portabella becomes the new Head of Infrastructures of the Corporació Clínic and takes care of the project's development.

Consolidation of CIBEK’s adjacent buildings and demolition of buildings placed where CIBEK will stand.

Beginning of the panel walls construction and excavation.
